The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established Australian resources business to recruit an Assistant Accountant for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent.
n
Working within a small finance team and reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will get involved across accounts payable, SAP Concur, procurement, reconciliations, month-end and tax support.
n
The Role
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Processing supplier invoices and supporting accounts payable payment runs.
n
Managing corporate credit card and expense claims through SAP Concur.
n
Raising purchase requisitions and supporting procurement processes.
n
Preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
n
Assisting with month-end journals and fixed asset maintenance.
n
Supporting BAS, FBT and income tax preparation.
n
Working closely with the broader business to resolve invoice and finance queries.
n
Providing general accounting support and assisting with ad hoc tasks across the finance team.
n

About You
n
We are open to different levels of experience.



You may be a recent accounting graduate or have some initial experience within an accounts or finance team.
n
More importantly, you will bring:
n

A genuine interest in developing your accounting career.
n
Strong attention to detail and the ability to pick up new processes quickly.
n
A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved across a broad range of tasks.
n
Confidence communicating with stakeholders across the business.
n
Good Excel and general systems skills.
n
Previous exposure to accounts payable, reconciliations or accounting systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.
n
