About the role
n
We're seeking a friendly, motivated casual Dental Assistant to join our Mermaid Beach practice.
n
This is an all-rounder position, moving between dental assisting, reception and sterilisation. Hours vary week to week, with room to build towards full-time hours and the possibility of a full-time role down the track for the right person.
n
Both roles suit someone looking to start or build a career in dental. Following probation, there's the opportunity to begin a Dental Assisting traineeship, fully supported by Coastal Dental Care.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Assisting dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures
n
Preparing treatment rooms, instruments and materials
n
Supporting sterilisation and reprocessing in line with infection prevention and control standards
n
Welcoming, comforting and supporting patients throughout their visit
n
Maintaining clean, organised and well-stocked clinical areas
n
All-rounder role: patient check-in, appointment scheduling and phone enquiries at reception
n
Assisting with basic administrative tasks as required
n
What we're looking for
n




A genuine interest in building a career in the dental industry
n
Some experience or knowledge of infection prevention and control (healthcare, dental or similar)
n
A caring, professional and patient-focused approach
n
Strong reliability, attention to detail and willingness to learn
n
Up-to-date immunisations, or willingness to obtain them
n
All-rounder role: comfortable juggling reception duties alongside clinical work
n

Preferred

Certificate III in Dental Assisting
n
Confidence working as part of a close-knit, fast-paced team
n
Reception or customer service experience (all-rounder role)
n
Above-award pay, with traineeship support available
n
Flexible casual hours for the all-rounder role, with room to grow towards full-time
n
