Nexl is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is technically rigorous, highly autonomous, and committed to building infrastructure that is reliable, observable, and engineered for scale.

This role is focused on owning Nexl's cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational reliability as the platform and team continue to grow.
n
The Senior DevOps Engineer will partner closely with backend, full-stack, and AI engineering teams in an AI-first environment, using AI tools to accelerate diagnostics, automation, and operational workflows. This role is accountable for infrastructure reliability, security posture, and enabling Nexl's engineers to ship with confidence.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in systems thinking, has a bias for simplicity and automation, and is energised by making complex infrastructure invisible to the engineers who depend on it.

What You'll Own & Do
n
n
Own and evolve Nexl's AWS infrastructure using Terraform, including migration and consolidation of cloud providers.
n
Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows, reducing friction and increasing deployment confidence.
n
Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and observability across the platform.
n
Use AI tools to accelerate diagnostics, config generation, automation, and operational workflows.
n
Partner with engineering teams to support scale, performance, and reliability as the product grows.
n
Participate in on-call rotations; lead incident response, troubleshooting, and post-mortems.
n
Automate repetitive operational tasks including secret rotations and environment management.
n
Improve security posture across IAM, secrets, and networking.
n
Optimise cloud cost and performance, connecting infrastructure decisions to business impact.

What We're Looking For: Must haves
n
n
Strong AWS experience across ECS, RDS, Aurora, and related services.
n
Azure experience - ability to build, manage, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure on Azure.
n
Familiarity with Docker and containerised deployment patterns.
n
Experience with PostgreSQL performance metrics and migration tools.
n
Experience with Terraform or other IaC tooling.
n
Experience building or improving CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and CircleCI.
n
Strong observability and operational awareness across tools like New Relic and SigNoz.
n
Proficient in using AI tools to accelerate diagnostics, automation, and operational decision-making.
n
Security-aware, with a strong collaboration mindset and a bias toward simplicity.
n
High ownership and accountability mindset, with the ability to operate autonomously and drive outcomes.

Kubernetes experience.
