Where you'll be working
n Join the Speech Pathology team at Blacktown Hospital, where you will play a key role in supporting newborns and children with complex feeding and swallowing needs. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will bring advanced clinical expertise, sound professional judgement and a commitment to improving outcomes for consumers and families.

What you'll be doing
n As a senior clinician, you will provide advanced Speech Pathology services across neonatology and paediatrics, using your clinical expertise to manage complex presentations and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
n
Provide evidence-based assessment and intervention for clients with feeding and swallowing difficulties and multidisciplinary needs.
n
Provide specialist consultation, education, training and competency development to colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
n
Supervise staff and students and contribute to clinical governance, professional development and quality improvement.
n
Lead and support service development initiatives, clinical procedures and business planning activities.
n




Manage complex clinical presentations using independent professional judgement, problem-solving and advanced clinical skills.
n
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
n
Registration: Eligible for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
n
Selection Criteria
n
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in the management of medically complex neonates with feeding and swallowing disorders.
n
Demonstrated and recent experience in managing complex paediatric developmental feeding and swallowing disorders.
n
Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary team with minimal direct clinical supervision, displaying excellent time management and organisational skills.
n
Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships
n
Actively practices the principles of Evidence Based Practice and engages in recent professional development for relevant clinical areas.
