FERHM Heavy Maintenance is seeking an experienced Accessory Fitter / Mechanical Installer to join our growing team.
n
This is a hands-on role working predominantly on earthmoving equipment, heavy vehicles and mobile plant, installing and servicing Lubecore Automatic Grease Systems, hydraulic accessories and other specialist equipment.
n
We're looking for someone who takes pride in clean, professional installations, can think mechanically and wants the opportunity to develop into a highly skilled specialist within a growing heavy-equipment business.

About the role
n
You'll be employed by FERHM Heavy Maintenance and work alongside our mechanical, fabrication and field-service team.
n
Your day-to-day work will include:
n
n
Installing Lubecore Automatic Grease and Lubrication Systems on earthmoving equipment, trucks and mobile plant
n
Installing pumps, injectors, metering devices, grease lines, brackets, protection and associated components
n
Measuring, cutting, routing and adapting materials to achieve neat, professional installations
n
Manufacturing CAT hydraulic hose assemblies to OEM specifications
n
Carrying out servicing, fault finding and repairs on existing automatic lubrication systems
n
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, installation manuals and specifications
n
Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment safely and correctly
n
Inspecting completed installations to ensure they meet FERHM, Lubecore and manufacturer standards
n
Troubleshooting installation and system issues and developing practical solutions
n
Preparing machines and vehicles correctly before installation
n
Maintaining a clean and organised work area and field-service vehicle
n
Recording work completed, materials used and relevant job information
n
Communicating professionally with customers, supervisors and other trades
n
Taking ownership of your jobs from start to finish
n
n




The position will involve a combination of workshop and field-based work throughout South East Queensland.
n
What we're looking for
n
Ideally, you'll have experience as an:
n
n
Accessory Fitter
n
Automatic Grease System Installer
n
Mechanical Fitter
n
Automotive or Heavy Vehicle Accessory Installer
n
Mechanical Technician
n
Field Service Technician
n
n
Previous experience installing Automatic Grease Systems on trucks or earthmoving equipment is highly regarded, particularly systems from Lubecore, Lincoln, Groeneveld, SKF, Graco or similar manufacturers.
n
We're also looking for:
n
n
Strong mechanical aptitude
n
A minimum of approximately 1–2 years' relevant fitting or installation experience
n
Pride in producing clean, tidy and professional work
n
Confidence working around heavy vehicles and earthmoving machinery
n
Ability to fabricate simple brackets and adapt installations where required
n
Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
n
Ability to read technical drawings and installation instructions
n
Competence with hand and power tools
n
Strong attention to detail
n
Understanding of workshop and field-service safety requirements
n
Reliability, punctuality and a skilled attitude
n
Ability to work independently without being micromanaged
n
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
n
Physical fitness suitable for hands-on mechanical work
n
A current C Class driver's licence
n
Full legal right to work in Australia
n
n
Relevant trade qualifications are an advantage, but practical experience, mechanical ability and quality of workmanship are equally important to us.
