Job Description
The Role
n
Seeking lawyer with a background in intellectual property, looking to move in-house and broaden your commercial exposure. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, diversified organisation as part of a busy in-house legal team, working across IP, commercial contracting and a wide range of business-critical matters. Reporting into the Head of Legal Services team, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across intellectual property, commercial contracts, technology, privacy and regulatory matters.

You'll work closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders, protecting valuable IP assets and supporting strategic commercial initiatives across a diverse portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with IP experience who wants to build a genuinely varied in-house practice, gain direct exposure to senior stakeholders and grow your commercial skill set beyond private practice.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Advise on the protection, registration, maintenance and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including trade marks, copyright and confidential information
n
Assist in managing the organisation's trade mark and IP portfolios
n
Support IP audits and due diligence reviews
n
Prepare and assist in negotiating licensing,
assignment and confidentiality agreements
n
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
n
Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across contractual and corporate matters
n
Identify legal risks and recommend pragmatic, business-focused solutions
n
Support technology, privacy and data protection matters as they arise
n

About You
n
n
2+ years' post admission experience, with demonstrated exposure to intellectual property law (essential)
n
Experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements
n
Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
n
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine commercial curiosity
n
Ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities
n
Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with a supportive legal team
n

What's on Offer

$90,000 – $130,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
