The Department

The Anaesthesia Department is fully accredited for specialist training and delivers a comprehensive and high-quality service across the hospital, including:

Pre-admission assessment clinics
n
Acute Pain Service rounds
n
Anaesthesia and sedation for medical and procedural services
n
n
The department has a strong teaching culture and supports a broad multidisciplinary training cohort, including:

n
Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme (QARTS) trainees
n
College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) trainee
n
Rural Generalist trainee
n
Principal House Officers (PHOs)
n
Junior House Officers (JHOs)
n
Dedicated Acute Pain Service Nurse
n

Requirements

**FANZCA** with specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
n
**ANZCA Advanced Trainees** within **6 months of attaining Fellowship**
n
**International Medical Graduates**:
n
Assessed by ANZCA as **Substantially Comparable**
n
OR with **ANZCA interview dates confirmed**
n
Doctors from **New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Taiwan** are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for assessment pathways
