Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a respected Australian financial services organisation to appoint an experienced Risk Assurance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation undergoing continued investment in its governance, risk and compliance framework. Reporting into a senior risk leader, you will play a key role in developing and executing assurance activities across operational, regulatory and technology-related risk obligations. Working across the business, you will help strengthen the control environment, provide independent challenge and support the ongoing maturity of risk management practices.

The Opportunity
n
You will lead and coordinate a risk-based controls assurance program, partnering with stakeholders across risk, compliance, technology, operations and internal audit functions. Key responsibilities include:

Designing and delivering a risk-based controls testing and assurance program
n
Assessing the effectiveness of key controls and identifying opportunities for improvement
n
Monitoring remediation activities and supporting timely closure of control gaps
n
Providing guidance on control design and control uplift initiatives
n
Supporting assurance activities relating to operational risk,



technology risk and regulatory compliance obligations
n
Preparing assurance reporting for senior management and governance committees
n
Maintaining accurate records of controls, testing outcomes and action plans within the organisation's risk management framework
n

About You
n
To be successful, you will bring:
n
n
Experience gained within risk, compliance, controls assurance, internal audit or operational risk
n
Exposure to APRA-regulated environments such as banking, insurance, superannuation or broader financial services
n
Solid understanding of risk and control frameworks
n
Experience conducting controls testing, assurance reviews or internal audits
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional certifications in risk, audit, compliance or accounting
n
n
Experience with technology risk, cyber security controls, operational resilience or APRA prudential standards would be highly regarded.
