The Role
n
As we build a modern data capability, we now have the prospect for a Data Engineer to join our Technology and Innovation Team on a permanent full-time basis. Based at our CBD Head Office, this is a hands-on SQL role, responsible for:
n

Building automated data pipelines across operational systems
n
Creating reliable SQL Server and PostgreSQL warehouse foundations
n
Improving data platform performance, quality, monitoring and recoverability.
n
Reducing manual data extracts and reporting rework
n
n
What You will Need
n
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
n
n
Expert SQL capability, particularly T-SQL and PostgreSQL
n
Strong experience with query optimisation, indexing and execution plan analysis
n
Proven ability to build ETL/ELT pipelines and warehouse structures
n




Troubleshoot skills with the ability to identify and resolve data quality and integration issues end to endEffective communication skills, with confidence partnering across business Leaders and technical teams
n
Experience in mining, industrial services, construction, maintenance or asset intensive environment is highly desirable
n
CDP, APIs, Azure Data Factory, dbt, airflow or Python is an advantage
n
Exposure to SSRS, Tableau or Apache SuperSet without being a visualisation specialist will be highly valued
n
