Job Description
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong financial controls. We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role and a solid understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, reconciliations, and end-to-end accounting processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to further develop their skills and take on greater responsibility within an established organisation, or for a former auditor seeking to transition from audit into a financial accounting role within the construction industry.

This is a full‐time role based at our Head Office in Varsity Lakes, with hours from 8:30am-5pm Monday - Thursday and 8:30am - 4pm on Fridays.

Responsibilities
n

Perform account reconciliations and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
n
Prepare monthly BAS and associated reporting
n
Manage Fixed Assets and assist with AASB 16 Leases
n
Prepare and contribute to monthly Financial and Management Reports, including variance analysis
n
Analyse financial data to identify trends, issues and opportunities
n
Manage month-end and year-end financial accounting processes
n
Manage intercompany recharging and reconciliations
n
Support the Financial Accounting Manager with financial reporting, analysis and accounting matters
n
Assist with other ad hoc financial projects,



reports and analysis as required

About You
n
To be successful in this role you will have:
n
CPA or CA qualification (desirable but not essential)
n
Minimum three years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar accounting or auditing role
n
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles (including accruals and deferrals), accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements
n
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to independently develop and improve financial templates, analyse and interpret financial data, and draw meaningful conclusions and insights to support decision-making
n
Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to independently assess issues, develop practical solutions and take ownership through to resolution, while consistently delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines and KPIs
n
A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to take initiative, work autonomously,



identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate effectively with others to achieve outcomes
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and confidently liaise with other teams and departments, external accountants, auditors and other key stakeholders.

Experience with accounting, financial and asset management systems
n
Experience with Databuild will be highly regarded
n
