Kalwun offers a wide range of programs across health, community, and family services, all grounded in culture, care, and connection.About the roleWe are looking for a dynamic Aboriginal Health Worker who is passionate about improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The successful candidate will provide high quality services including assessment, examination, treatment and case management, along with contributing to the development of models of holistic care incorporating continuity of care.
There are roles available:a full time permanent rolea full time fixed term contract until 30 June ****to focus on Women's Health to work as part of the Congenital Syphilis Prevention ProgramWhat you'll be doingProvide health screening for clients in keeping with scope of practiceConnecting and yarning with clients and families to the clinic to collect, collate and update their storiesProvide health information and education to clients which promotes autonomy and choiceWork alongside stakeholders and educators to provide health assessments in local school.About YouYou're someone who:Builds solid,
respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesBrings experience in working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healthIs passionate about making a positive impact and supporting others with heart and purposeMinimum Certificate IIIin Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health CareDemonstratedunderstanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their healthAbility to communicate sensitively and to effectively engage with community built on mutual respect and regardExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary teamAbility to work independently and to demonstrate initiativeRequirementsA Blue Card for working with children ('No Card No Start' policy applies)National police check*IDENTIFIED POSITION - To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
