About the RoleWorking as part of a skilled production team, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, testing and quality assurance of sophisticated electrical and mechanical equipment.
This is a hands‐on role requiring robust technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to interpret engineering documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesBasic mechanical and electrical assemblyRead and interpret technical drawings, assembly plans and work instructionsInstall nuts, bolts, frames and structural components onto trailers, booms, beams and equipment housingsProduction line and bench assembly workBuild and install electrical panels onto equipmentInstall wiring and electrical panels into trailers and mobile camera equipmentAssemble and install stationary camera systems and boom structuresElectrical component assemblyConnect optical wiring and associated componentsAssemble electrical panels from provided assembly sheetsPrepare products for assembly and quality testingInspect sub-assemblies for workmanship and compliancePerform simple low-voltage electronic testingConnect and secure electrical wiring and cablingInspect completed assemblies for accuracy and qualityTest and calibrate equipment to required specificationsCarry out mechanical and electrical engineering-based assembly tasksComplete installation, connection and disconnection of wiring, optics and camerasAssemble complete mobile trailer units from base shell through to finished productOversee electrical installation and wiring activitiesConduct equipment and software testingPerform final QA/QC inspectionsComplete production documentation and sign off completed job ordersAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in electrical, electronics or mechanical assembly, with exposure to wiring, panel building, low-voltage systems or similar production environments.
Experience reading technical drawings, using hand and power tools, and assembling electrical components is essential, while switchboard work, optical wiring, soldering and testing experience will be highly regarded.The Must haves:Construction White Card (mandatory for this role)Must be able to pass a NSW police check for this roleMust be able to provide an RTA Printout for this roleTo be successful in this role you will ideally have:Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade/technical disciplineAutomotive Mechanics are encouraged to applyPrevious experience in electrical assembly, electronics assembly, trades assistant or technician rolesExperience using hand and power toolsExperience assembling electrical componentsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly documentationStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipHighly RegardedExperience building switchboardsExperience with electronics assemblyExperience with wiring of complex electrical systemsExperience assembling mobile or fixed camera systems, monitoring equipment or similar technologyOptical/fibre wiring experienceSoldering experiencePop rivet gun and riveting experienceForklift LicenceExperience in testing, fault finding and quality assuranceIf you have a strong electrical or mechanical background and enjoy hands‐on assembly work in a technical manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
