Full time, continuing position – Exciting opportunity to a Senior Lecturer within the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney.Base Salary starting at $162,347 - $187,198 + 17% superannuation.About the opportunityThe School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education and research.

The School of Medical Sciences is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Human Genetics and/or Bioinformatics who will make significant contributions to research, education and academic activities while building a strong reputation as an authoritative figure within their discipline.
The role will contribute to high-quality teaching and learning experiences, curriculum development, research leadership, supervision of higher degree research students and the establishment of collaborations that enhance the university's research profile and reputation.Key Responsibilitiesbuild and maintain a reputation for academic excellence through innovative and impactful research, scholarship and education that advances knowledge and practice within the school and disciplinesecure, lead and contribute to competitive research funding and grant opportunities, and develop collaborations and partnerships that enhance the research profile, impact and reputation of the Universitydeliver and coordinate high-quality teaching and learning experiences, including the supervision and successful completion of higher degree research studentsdevelop, review and enhance curricula, programs and learning resources to achieve excellent educational outcomes and an outstanding student experienceprovide academic leadership in teaching, curriculum innovation, research training and supervision within the School and Facultymentor, support and develop academic staff, fostering excellence in teaching,
research and professional practiceestablish external partnerships and engage in translational research that delivers impactful outcomes in research, commercialisation, policy and practiceengage in professional, community, alumni and public activities that promote the discipline and strengthen the University's reputation and impactcontribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values collaboration, diversity, excellence and achievementsupport and advance the strategic priorities of the University, Faculty and School through leadership, service and engagementundertake other duties appropriate to the classification level as requiredQualifications & Experiencedoctorate (PhD) and relevant professional qualifications in a discipline aligned with the positionsustained record of high-quality, original research, scholarly achievement and research impact within their disciplinedemonstrated success in securing, leading and contributing to competitive research funding, grants and research collaborationsstrong national reputation and an emerging international profile in their area of research expertisestrong record of excellence in teaching and learning across a range of educational settings, with experience in educational design, delivery and evaluationdemonstrated expertise in curriculum development and a commitment to pedagogical innovation and continuous improvementexperience supervising higher degree research students and mentoring academic staff to support their development and successan established network of academic, industry, government and skilled partners, with the ability to build productive collaborations and partnershipshighly developed skills in research leadership, critical thinking, strategic planning,
