Container Transport Allocator - Day /Afternoon ShiftWe are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and customer driven Transport Allocator to join our team.The Transport Allocator will be responsible for coordinating the SWL truck fleet to ensure that containers are moved from shipping wharfs to the customer or yard, within optimum timeframes.Key DutiesBook empty slots in 1-Stop and ContainerChain for dehires to MT parksLiaise with the drivers on a nightly basis to ensure all work is being carried out correctlyEnsure compliance with all NHVR and health and safety regulations.Accurate updating off all jobs in FreightTrackerNotify internally and externally of any delays at clients and or wharf delaysMonitor and Coordinate discharge and availability of imports from container terminalsEnsure smooth and accurate handover is done to the day allocator at end of shiftsMonitoring drivers with Netstar GPS to assure optimal performance is maintained throughout the shiftQualifications, Skills and ExperienceAt least 2 years' experience in a transport related rolesBe a team player, have a positive attitude and have the ability to work autonomouslyMust know and understand Chain of ResponsibilityKnowledge of 1-Stop and Freight Tracker operating systemsKnowledge of Import and Export requirements at the portGood understanding of the Ports and Empty parks within Port BotanyExcellent communication and planning skills and attention to detailDemonstrated teamworking skills and outstanding customer service skillsGood understanding of A-DOUBLE & HML routes throughout Port Botany and Metro area in compliance with NHVR approved routes
