Senior Project Officer - Engagement / TrainingOur client is a large Queensland Government department delivering environmental, agricultural and community protection initiatives across the state.About the roleAs the Senior Project Officer, you will support the planning, delivery and evaluation of preparedness projects relating to animal and plant biosecurity.Projects may cover emergency animal diseases, invasive pests and animals, stakeholder education, training and engagement activities, and the development of supporting resources.Working within an approximately 17-person Strategy and Engagement team, you will engage with internal specialist teams and a diverse range of external stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate biosecurity preparedness projectsDefine project requirements, objectives, priorities and deliverablesDevelop and manage project schedules, timelines and resourcesIdentify and manage project risks, issues, and dependenciesPrepare project updates, reports, briefings and supporting documentationCoordinate stakeholder education, training and engagement activitiesDevelop practical resources that strengthen biosecurity awareness and preparednessBuild productive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholdersWork with industry groups, local government, supply-chain partners, community organisations and the publicSupport effective governance, reporting,



and continuous improvement across projectsRequirementsDemonstrated experience coordinating or managing projects from planning through to delivery and evaluationStrong capability across project planning, timelines, risks, stakeholder management and reportingExperience delivering education, engagement, training or behaviour-change projects is highly regardedStrong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefings and project resourcesConfidence engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholdersAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environmentGovernment experience is not essential, although an understanding of governance or public‐sector processes would be beneficialExperience within biosecurity, agriculture, primary industries, emergency preparedness, environment or natural resource management would be advantageousWhat's in it for you?
