Expressions of Interest are now open for the role of Specialist Palliative Care CNS2 in the Broken Hill Community Specialist Palliative Care Team (Far West LHD).
The role will be contracted for a maximum of 12-months.

Role Requirements
providing skilled assessment and management of people with a life limiting illnessparticipation in nurse led clinics and appropriate follow up and ongoing care/care coordinationprovision of clinical education, advice and support to other health professionals in the management of complex patients with specialist palliative care needsprovision of direct patient care to community palliative care patients across a range of settingsworking as part of the team providing 7-day week services, with on-call duties as part of the rotating 7- day roster.leadership role in education, mentoring and working as a member of the multidisciplinary teamworking within Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards of Practice and relevant codes that govern Registration, including accurate documentation.




Selection Criteria
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and/or at least 3 years' experience working in Specialist Palliative CareDemonstrated advanced clinical skills and ability to exercise autonomous decision making in providing complex care to palliative care patientsDemonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinkingDemonstrated ability to provide mentorship and informal education to other health professionalsDemonstrated commitment to provide culturally protected care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopleCommitment to own professional development, maintaining competence and enhancement of skillsDemonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and information technology skills.
