Maryland Care and Early Education Centre – Maryland NSWAs an Early Childhood Teacher and Preschool Room Leader, you will take a leading role in the planning and delivery of the preschool program, while providing day-to-day leadership and support to educators within the room.
You will play an important role in bringing the centre's philosophy to life every day, ensuring the needs, wellbeing, learning and happiness of children are at the heart of decisions and practice.Key responsibilitiesLead and develop a high-quality preschool program that reflects children's interests, strengths, ideas and individual learning needsKeep children's wellbeing, learning and interests at the centre of all curriculum decisionsTake responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the preschool room, supporting educators to work collaboratively and effectivelyDevelop intentional learning experiences that support children's school readiness, confidence, independence and wellbeingBuild strong foundations for children's transition to school through play-based learning and meaningful experiencesGuide and support educators with programming, planning, observations and documentationFoster a positive, inclusive and collaborative room cultureDevelop genuine and respectful relationships with children and their familiesUse the EYLF to guide curriculum decision-making, intentional teaching and reflective practiceMaintain high-quality observations, documentation and learning recordsAbout youBachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalentNESA Teacher Accreditation – Proficient or aboveStrong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS)Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)Current First Aid, CPR,
Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications (HLTAID012 or equivalent)Understanding of child safety and mandatory reporting responsibilitiesDemonstrated experience in early childhood programming, planning and documentationCompleted Geccko child safety trainingExcellent communication, leadership and teamwork skillsCommitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practiceNon contact programming and documentation timePaid career development, including conferences, workshops, further study opportunities and mentoringPaid staff meetings and room meetingsChristmas shutdown period (paid using leave entitlements for permanent staff)Supportive Management Committee that actively invests in educator wellbeing, including paid bonding and team-building activitiesOpportunities for leadership and professional developmentCollaborative, community-focused workplaceAbout usMaryland Care and Early Education Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit long daycare service that has proudly supported local children and families for nearly 40 years.Our guiding philosophy is simple: Children Always Come First.
