About this role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sport and Recreation branch.
As one of the fastest growing Councils in Australia, you will be responsible for the effective coordination and operational management of Council's sport and recreation facilities, ensuring equitable access, optimal utilisation, and high-quality service delivery.
Reporting to the Team Leader Sport and Leisure Operations, you will coordinate the effective allocation and utilisation of sportsgrounds, courts and associated infrastructure, while maintaining a strong customer and stakeholder focus.
This includes balancing competing demands through transparent, evidence-based decision-making to achieve fair and sustainable outcomes.
Acting as a central point of coordination between Council, sporting clubs/associations, schools and service providers, you will build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships.
You will respond proactively to operational challenges, stakeholder needs and emerging trends, ensuring service delivery aligns with Council's strategic priorities and community expectations.

Tertiary qualifications in Sports, Recreation, Leisure, or a related field, or relevant experienceDemonstrated experience in managing sports operations and allocations using digital systemsDemonstrated interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build, establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders such as community groups and Council staffExperience working collaboratively across various teams or departments to address issues, implement solutions, and deliver seamless services.Experience in developing and/or implementing policies, procedures, strategies, and/or systems to improve sport and recreation servicesAbility to identify issues, analyse data, and implement solutions to improve sport and leisure operations and service deliveryAbility to self-manage time, plan, and prioritise work and meet deadlines and targets in a dynamic environmentCommitment to high-quality customer service and a sound understanding of the sport and recreation industry, including current trends and funding opportunitiesExperience in projects or initiatives, particularly within the sport and leisure sectorExperience with BookableAbility to provide advice on the planning and enhancement of sports clubs, facilities, and grounds
