About UsWe are a local Cairns family-owned business, specialising in mining and civil mobile machinery repairs and maintenance on and off site since ****.Within our Cairns Worksop, our team of fitters and boilermakers complete heavy machinery service and repairs, component and machine overhauls, electrical and air conditioning service and repairs, welding and fabrication support, and install and service fire suppression systems.Our workshop also supports our local and remote field service work, a growing retail trade in GET, the dry hire of our 40+ fleet of heavy machinery, and machinery transport with our Kenworth trucks.About the RoleThe successful applicant can expect general duties include:Cleaning machines and componentsCarry out machinery on and off hire cleansAssisting tradesmen with simple mechanical or labour supportPaint and panel touch-upsCleaning and tidying the workshop spacesOrdering, collecting and organising workshop consumablesAssisting with general WHS upkeepPicking,



packing and dispatching GET ordersCollecting and organising partsMoving vehicles and machinery to and from sites, COI inspections and external service providersProviding ad-hoc assistance to our Workshop Co-ordinator and office staffWe expect the duties of this role to adjust in accordance with the skills and experience of the successful applicant and as such, duties might also include:Loading and unloading freightTruck/heavy vehicle drivingPaint and panel repairsRequirements for positionCurrent manual driver's licence and own transportMinimum LR licence, ideally HCAvailable for full-time hours, between 7.00am and 5.00pmQualities:Interest in the industry and tradeWillingness to learn and follow safety proceduresGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of peopleCapability to work win a quick past environmentAbility to work autonomously or as part of a teamPunctual and reliableSelf-starting and proactive attitudeSound written, verbal, mathematics, English and computer skillsNeat and tidy appearanceA positive attitude and strong work ethicBonus Qualifications and Experience:High-risk work licences for dogging and overhead crane operationMC driver's licenceMechanical trades knowledgeParts interpreting knowledgePaint and panel experienceToddy's Machinery Maintenance offers a flexible work environment with pay based on experience and knowledge.
