Full-Time Position | Rockhampton Region | Immediate Start AvailableTBG is a specialist contractor supporting Queensland's transport and energy networks.
We deliver civil construction, rail systems, power distribution, electrical and HVAC projects across the state.Due to continued growth and an increasing pipeline of power infrastructure projects, we are seeking an experienced Plant Operator with demonstrated experience operating 5–8 tonne excavators to join our team.Key: This is not a FIFO or DIDO position.
Applicants must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Rockhampton region.This is an excellent full-time opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects while building a long-term career with a growing Queensland-based organisation.About the RoleReporting to the Site Leadership Team, your responsibilities will include:Operating 5–8 tonne excavators safely and competentlyUndertaking trenching, excavation, detailed earthworks, backfilling and general civil construction activitiesSupporting the construction and maintenance of civil and power infrastructureCompleting daily plant inspections and reporting any faults or maintenance requirementsOperating other plant, equipment and construction tools where appropriately trained and competentFollowing approved procedures, risk assessments and safe work practicesWorking around existing services and within active construction environmentsAssisting with general site activities when requiredWorking collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople and other project team membersDelivering work safely, efficiently and to the required quality standardsMaintaining plant,
equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly conditionTravelling and working away throughout Queensland when requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Demonstrated experience operating excavators in the 5–8 tonne rangePrevious experience in civil construction, power, rail or utility infrastructureThe ability to undertake detailed excavation and work safely around underground servicesRelevant excavator competency, ticket or verification of competencyA strong commitment to workplace health and safetyThe physical fitness and capacity to undertake manual work in outdoor environmentsA reliable, practical and proactive approach to workStrong teamwork and communication skillsThe ability to work effectively within small project teamsA willingness to travel and work away from home when requiredA current Australian Driver's LicenceDesirable Qualifications and ExperienceThe following will be highly regarded:HR Driver's LicenceSkid Steer competency or licenceExperience operating other civil construction plant and machineryConstruction Industry White CardPrevious experience working with Aurizon, Energy Queensland or other utility providersExperience working within rail corridors or around electrical infrastructureRelevant civil construction qualifications or competenciesWhat TBG OffersImmediate start for the right candidateOngoing, full-time employmentCompetitive rates, including applicable penalties and travel allowancesOpportunities for career progression and professional developmentA supportive and team-focused working environmentVaried work across essential infrastructure projects throughout QueenslandThe opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing organisationIf you are an experienced Plant Operator who takes pride in operating safely, completing quality work and contributing positively to a small project team, we would like to hear from you.
