Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Community Engagement Manager to play a pivotal role in building strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships between Sodexo, our client, and the communities surrounding our remote operations.This role is central to fostering community partnerships, supporting local employment and enterprise opportunities, and ensuring our operations create lasting social value.
You will be a visible and trusted presence both on-site and within local communities—driving engagement initiatives, supporting events, and strengthening meaningful connections.This position involves weekly travel to remote sites, with flexibility required to extend time onsite to support mobilisation and operational priorities.Community & Stakeholder EngagementBuild solid relationships with site teams, Elders, Traditional Owners, and local communitiesAct as a key liaison between Sodexo, clients, and stakeholdersEnsure culturally respectful and inclusive engagementMaintain accurate records for reporting and complianceSupport operational teams in delivering contractual outcomesPartnership DevelopmentReview local businesses to identify opportunities to support Village and Camp projectsFocus on engaging and supporting local Indigenous‐owned businesses, nurturing opportunities for growth and sustainabilityPromote Sodexo as a trusted long‐term partner within regional and remote communitiesEmployment & RecruitmentIdentify and promote local employment opportunities across casual and permanent roles within the VillageWork closely with Sodexo recruitment teams to develop and execute local recruitment strategiesIndigenous EngagementWork closely with Sodexo's indigenous affairs team on initiatives and community programs as required.Support Indigenous participation in employment, training,



and supplier opportunitiesEnsure culturally significant events and initiatives are respectfully and appropriately supportedEvents & Community ActivationPlan and deliver community and Village events to a high standard, including (but not limited to):Australia DayTheme nights celebrationsNAIDOC WeekEncourage resident participation in community events and initiatives onsiteOpportunity & Project DevelopmentIdentify local project and service opportunitiesCollaborate internally to deliver shared outcomesPrioritise local employment where possibleGovernance & ReportingEnsure all contractual requirements related to community engagement are met and documentedMonitor, evaluate, and report on community engagement outcomes and social value contributionsProvide regular updates to site and contract leadershipEnsure compliance with Sodexo policies, Indigenous engagement commitments, and client expectationsPersonal AttributesApproachable, engaging, and culturally awareHighly organised with strong documentation and reporting capabilityPassionate about community development and social impactAble to work autonomously across remote locationsFlexible, adaptable, and comfortable in dynamic environmentsAdditional InformationThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or activities required of the role.
