Waterview Electrical Services – Mona Vale NSWWaterview Electrical Services is looking for a hands-on Smart Works Lead Technician to join our team.This is a senior field-based role working across high-end residential smart home, automation, security, CCTV, networking, lighting control, and AV projects.The role is approximately 70% on the tools, with the balance focused on quoting support, technical planning, job coordination, client communication, commissioning, and handover.You will be responsible for delivering and supporting Smart Works jobs from site setup through to commissioning and handover.
This includes security and CCTV installation/programming, lighting control, C-Bus, KNX, networking/IP systems, basic AV, automation support, fault-finding, and service work.This is not a desk-based manager role.
It suits someone who is robust on the tools, technically capable, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of jobs.Key responsibilitiesInstall, program, commission, and fault-find smart home and automation systemsInstall and program security and CCTV systemsWork with lighting control systems, including C-Bus and KNXSupport networking, IP devices, WiFi, AV,



and smart home systemsReview job scopes and provide technical input into quotesPrepare parts lists and assist with supplier pricing where requiredCoordinate with electricians, apprentices, subcontractors, builders, clients, and the office teamComplete job notes, photos, commissioning records, and handover documentationIdentify variations and communicate them before extra work proceedsSupport the ongoing growth of the Smart Works divisionRequired experienceHands-on experience in smart home, automation, security, CCTV, networking, AV, or electrical workStrong practical fault-finding abilityExperience working on residential sites, preferably high-end homesAbility to read plans, understand scope, and work with builders and clientsStrong communication and job ownership skillsAbility to work independently and manage smaller jobs end-to-endWillingness to stay on the tools while taking on technical leadership responsibilityPreferred experienceElectrical licence preferred but not essentialC-Bus experienceKNX experienceSecurity/CCTV programming experienceNetworking and IP knowledgeBasic AV knowledgeExperience preparing quotes or technical scopesBe careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
