Categories: Orderly.About the roleMater Private Hospital Mackay is seeking applications for a permanent part time – 32 hours per week Orderly to join our team and support our wards.
This role will operate on a 7 day a week roster, including morning and afternoon shifts.Safely lift, move, and transport patients using correct manual‐handling techniques and equipment.Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment, following infection control and hospital cleaning standards.Handle, transport, and safely store equipment, furniture, and medical gases in line with hospital procedures.Provide basic patient care under nursing supervision and respond appropriately to emergencies, including giving basic first aid when required.Manage waste disposal and clean contaminated equipment according to policy.Assist clinical staff in speciality areas, including supporting sterile procedures and maintaining sterile fields.Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team and complete tasks assigned by the Team Leader or After Hours Nurse Manager.Participate in quality improvement activities, meetings, and accreditation processes.Undertake in‐charge responsibilities when delegated and contribute ideas that enhance patient care and service delivery.About YouAn understanding of infection control procedures and safe work practicesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolutionThe ability to work independently and collaboratively within a teamGood organisational and time‐management skillsPrevious experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly desirableWhy join us?
