Purpose-built as a highly automated extrusion facility, Smithfield offers exposure to specialised plant and extrusion equipment you won't find in every manufacturing environment.We're looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with solid hydraulic and pneumatic experience who enjoys fault-finding, solving problems and keeping complex plant performing at its best.What You'll Be DoingDiagnose, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systemsRespond to breakdowns and minimise production downtimeComplete planned and preventative maintenanceMaintain and repair mechanical and automated production equipmentRead and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematicsCarry out mechanical fault-finding, repairs and equipment inspectionsAssist with plant improvements, modifications and reliability initiativesUndertake basic welding and fabrication as requiredWork closely with Production and Maintenance to keep the plant running safely and efficientlyAbout YouYou must be a qualified Mechanical Fitter with hands-on hydraulic and pneumatic experience.You'll bring:Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and fault-finding experience - essentialAbility to read hydraulic and pneumatic schematicsStrong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skillsIndustrial plant, machinery or manufacturing maintenance experienceWelding and basic fabrication capabilityStrong commitment to workplace safetyAvailability to work a rotating day and afternoon shift rosterExperience with fixed plant, automated production equipment, PLCs/automation, extrusion, metals or heavy manufacturing will be highly regarded.
Forklift, Dogging and other relevant High Risk Work Licences would also be advantageous.Why Capral?
