Nonabel Disability Services – Sydney CBD NSWThe Support Worker is responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centered supports to participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The role focuses on enabling individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals, enhance independence, and participate meaningfully in their community.
Support Workers provide assistance with daily living, personal care, and community engagement in line with individualized support plans and organisational values.Key responsibilitiesDeliver person-centered support in accordance with participant care plansAssist with activities of daily living including prepping of breakfast/lunch, general cleaning of kitchen, making bed and assisting with client's physio exercisesAssist with clients showering, toileting, monitoring catherer and stomaMaintain accurate and timely case notes, incident reports, and progress updatesReport changes in participant needs, risks,
or behaviors to supervisorsAdhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and NDIS Practice StandardsFollow safe work practices, including manual handling and infection controlParticipate in training and relevant activitiesWork collaboratively with rostering officers, families and other colleagues when requiredAbout youCurrent First Aid & CPR certificationValid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening CheckCurrent driver's license and reliable vehicleMinimum 1 year or above experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and sleepoversCertificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent (desirable)Knowledge of NDIS framework and participant-directed care (desirable)Experience with manual handling and assistive equipment (desirable)
