We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team.Reporting to the Hotel Accountant and Director of Finance, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy of hotel revenue, maintaining financial controls, supporting month-end processes, and assisting with cost management initiatives across the hotel.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys analysing financial data, improving processes, and partnering with operational teams to drive business performance.Main ResponsibilitiesIncome Audit & Revenue ControlReview and audit daily revenue transactions across all hotel departments, including Rooms, Food & Beverage and other operating departmentsReconcile revenue postings, cash collections, credit card settlements, city ledger accounts and bank depositsInvestigate revenue discrepancies and unusual transactionsPrepare and distribute daily revenue and management reportsEnsure compliance with hotel policies, internal controls and audit requirementsAssist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliationsPrepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports for operational departmentsSupport budgeting and forecasting processesMaintain accurate financial records and documentationAssist with internal and external audit requirementsRecommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controlsCost Control & Inventory ManagementMonitor food, beverage and operating supply costsAnalyse cost variances and identify opportunities to improve profitabilityParticipate in inventory counts and stock reconciliationsReview purchasing transactions and supplier documentationPrepare monthly cost analysis and inventory valuation reportsWork closely with Purchasing, Receiving, Stores, Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to ensure effective cost controlSummaryAbout Park Hyatt SydneyAt Hyatt,

beverage and operating supply costsAnalyse cost variances and identify opportunities to improve profitabilityParticipate in inventory counts and stock reconciliationsReview purchasing transactions and supplier documentationPrepare monthly cost analysis and inventory valuation reportsWork closely with Purchasing, Receiving, Stores, Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to ensure effective cost controlQualificationsRelevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplinePrevious experience in an Assistant Accountant, Income Auditor, Cost Controller or similar accounting roleHospitality industry experience is highly desirableSound understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reportingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systemsHighly motivated, proactive and able to work both independently and collaborativelyThis is your chance to work with exclusive clientele at a luxury hotel like no other.
