YOUR NEW EMPLOYERYour new employer is a privately owned commercial construction business with a long history in NSW and a growing presence across Newcastle, the Hunter and Central Coast.
Their approach is centred around a simple philosophy: building communities together.
For them, that starts with their own people and extends to subcontractors, consultants, clients and ultimately the communities their projects serve. They are deliberately investing in local people and relationships, with a strong regional pipeline across health, education and government infrastructure.
They are also selective about the work they take on and place a huge amount of importance on the way they work with their subcontractors and project partners. That same thinking extends internally.
They are genuinely family focused, big on developing their people and offer monthly one-on-ones, annual performance and salary reviews, mentoring and clear opportunities to keep progressing.YOUR NEW JOBThis is a site-based Contracts Administrator role, putting you right alongside the project rather than administering it from a desk somewhere else.
You will work closely with the Project Manager and broader site team, taking ownership of the commercial and contractual detail that keeps a project running properly.
When you are between site-based projects,
you will work from the regional office in Wyong where your responsibilities will include:Managing subcontract and head contract administrationDeveloping scopes and running subcontract procurementCalling, assessing and comparing tendersPreparing and issuing subcontract documentationManaging variations, back charges and subcontractor claimsSupporting cost reporting, budgets and forecastingMaintaining procurement schedules and commercial registersKeeping project documentation and compliance on trackWorking closely with subcontractors, consultants and suppliersSupporting the PM across the commercial delivery of the projectThere is plenty to own, but you will also have an established project team around you.ABOUT YOUYou are already working as a Contracts Administrator within commercial construction and ready to become an important part of the project team, not just the person processing paperwork behind it.
Ideally, you will have around 5 years or more of construction CA experience, with a good understanding of subcontract administration, procurement, variations and cost reporting.A Construction Management, Building or related qualification would be ideal. You will be commercial and organised, but you'll also be good with people. This business believes that the best projects come from creating strong relationships between the builder, subcontractors, consultants and client, while still being explicit about expectations and protecting the commercial position of the job.You will be proactive, straight-up and comfortable solving problems before they become bigger ones.
