Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.What are we looking for?
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Yard Operator and/or Container Forklift Operator who is safety-focused, self-motivated, and customer-service driven.
The right person will be flexible, able to prioritise tasks, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to work every day.
You must be well-mannered and well-presented.
Weekend work may be required on occasion.
This is a position we want YOU to take ownership of.You must hold an LF Forklift licence and have a proven background operating forklifts in an industrial/outdoor workplace.
If you've worked on container forklifts, even better — but if not, we're happy to train the right person.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be shown what's expected and then trusted to take ownership.Qualifications and skills:Current LF forklift licence with experience operating 4-tonne and 10-tonne forklifts — mandatoryContainer forklift experience — highly regardedCurrent driver's licence and reliable transportRelevant plant and machinery tickets or certificatesPrevious scrap metal or recycling industry experience — highly regardedStrong commitment to workplace safety and following proceduresClear communication skills, with two-way radio experience highly regardedAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentPositive, flexible attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of tasksFriendly and helpful approach when assisting customers and drivers onsiteKey Responsibilities:Safely operate forklifts, container forklifts and other plant and equipmentMove materials throughout the yardLoad and unload bins, containers and trucksCheck and secure loads appropriatelyComplete pre-start checks and basic equipment maintenancePerform general labouring, housekeeping and yard dutiesMaintain a clean, safe and organised worksiteFollow all safety procedures, site policies and company requirementsParticipate in toolbox talks, safety initiatives and incident reportingOutdoor scrap metal recycling yardPPE providedHours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm (occasional weekends required)Please Note: This is is a casual position that requires full availability from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays as required.
There is opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.If you do not meet the criteria for the Forklift Operator role, but you hold a valid Forklift (LF) licence, you may still be considered for a General Labourer / and or Picker position (different rate).
