The Chance
EDGE Consulting Engineers is an Australian-owned Structural and Civil Engineering consultancy experiencing strong national growth across Queensland, ACT, and Australia-wide, with select international exposure.
We are seeking an experienced Structural Manager to lead our Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) structural team.
This is a genuine senior leadership role — responsible for people, performance, technical excellence, and business outcomes — with the autonomy and influence to shape the future of the office.

The Role
Reporting to the Directors, you will lead the day-to-day operation and strategic direction of the Sunshine Coast structural team.
Your focus will span:
Leadership & Culture
Develop and mentor Engineers, Senior Engineers, and GraduatesDrive accountability, engagement, and high performanceLead performance and remuneration reviewsSupport recruitment and succession planning
Technical Oversight
Maintain oversight of complex structural building projectsEnsure QA standards and technical excellence are upheldProvide senior review and guidance on high-risk or high-value work
Commercial & Operational Performance
Manage financial targets and team profitabilityForecast workload, resourcing,



and staffing requirementsContribute to fee proposals and commercial strategyReport performance metrics to Directors
Client & Growth
Maintain and strengthen key client relationshipsRepresent EDGE in industry forums and stakeholder meetingsSupport long-term business development and continuity
You will remain technically credible — while leading strategically.
About You
You are a leader first, structural engineer always.
You bring:
Degree qualification in Structural Engineering5+ years' experience within consultingProven leadership as a Structural Manager, Team Lead, or Senior EngineerDemonstrated experience managing structural engineering teamsStrong knowledge of Australian building structuresCommercial awareness and financial acumenConfident client‐facing capabilityChartered (or near Chartered) status with Engineers Australia
