Stainless Aesthetics is seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Fabricator / Welder to join our team in Morningside, QLD.
This is a casual position to start that offers flexibility whilst contributing to high-quality fabrication projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into precision creative components and finished products, utilising your expertise in both fabrication techniques and welding processes.
This position is integral to our operations, ensuring we maintain our reputation for excellence in public art sector.Key responsibilitiesFabricate and shape sheetmetal components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machineryPerform welding operations on various materials to precise specifications and quality standardsRead and interpret shop drawings and work instructions accuratelyMeasure, mark, and cut sheetmetal materials to required dimensionsOperate guillotines, press brake, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficientlyConduct quality checks on finished components to ensure they meet specified tolerances and standardsMaintain a clean and organised work setting, adhering to health and safety requirementsCollaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and delivery schedulesWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Sheetmetal Fabricator and/or Welder in a trades environmentCompetency in TIG, MIG or laser welding techniquesStrong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsProficiency with sheetmetal fabrication tools and machineryKnowledge of safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environmentExcellent attention to detail and precision in workmanshipAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical fitness and capability to perform manual work and lift heavy materialsRelevant qualifications or certifications in welding (such as National Certificate in Welding) are highly desirable but time in trade acknowledgedProblem-solving skills and willingness to learn new techniques and processesWhat we offerFlexible casual work arrangements to suit your lifestyleOpportunity to work on diverse, interesting and unique fabrication projectsA supportive team environment with experienced colleaguesSafe working conditions with modern equipment and facilitiesPotential for ongoing work opportunities based on performance and availabilityAbout usStainless Aesthetics is a specialist Public Artworks and architectural fabrication bussiness, specialising in high-quality designed fabricated artworks.
