The shutdown involves a comprehensive overhaul of the 750MW generating unit, including critical maintenance, inspection, repair, and upgrade works across the boiler, turbine, generator, and balance-of-plant equipment.What You Will Be DoingAs a Pressure Welder, you will be responsible for completing welding and maintenance activities on critical plant and pressure equipment during the shutdown.Performing coded pressure welding on boilers, high-pressure pipework, steam lines, and associated pressure equipmentCompleting welding repairs, modifications, and replacementsCarrying out TIG, Stick, and MIG weldingReading and interpreting isometric drawings, welding procedures, engineering drawings, and specificationsCompleting pipe fit-up, alignment, weld preparation, and pre-heating activitiesWelding carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome/moly,



and specialist alloysWorking closely with Boilermakers and Mechanical FittersPreparing welds for inspection and quality assurance requirementsAssisting with pressure testing and inspection activitiesSafely operating welding equipment, grinders, oxy equipment, and associated toolsWhat You Will NeedPrevious experience performing pressure welding within industrial, power generation, shutdown, or heavy industry environmentsAbility to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including chest x-rayWorking at Heights (completed within the last 2 years)Confined Space (completed within the last 2 years)White CardCurrent Driver's Licence and reliable transportWillingness to work away from homeCurrent ResumeWhat's in It for You?
