About the PositionALS Environmental is seeking to employ a full-time Laboratory Technician in the chemistry department at our laboratory based in Kirwan, Townsville.
The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in a wide variety of technical processes, techniques and quality procedures associated with working within a up-to-date analytical laboratory.ResponsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of environmental samplesEnsuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work InstructionsOrganising designated tasks to maximise daily efficienciesCompleting all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standardHighlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviourAbout youGenuine interest in science with either University or TAFE qualificationsHigh level of attention to detail, good communication and organisational skillsUnderstanding of good laboratory practicesA high level of computer literacyAbility to work well in a team environmentGreat time managementA demonstrated interest or personal hobby in areas such as computer building, circuitry, automation, excel macros, scripting or 3D printingCoding or programming capabilityExposure to or interest in robotics, AI, process automation or digital optimisationThis is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated person with strong communication and organisational skills to join a dynamic company that can offer a rewarding career path.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
