The Gem Hotel is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Cook to join our kitchen team on a casual basis.

As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our guests, contributing to the overall dining experience and reputation of The Gem Hotel.
This casual position offers flexibility and the chance to develop your culinary skills within a welcoming and professional team.Key responsibilitiesPrepare, cook and present dishes according to established recipes and plating standardsMaintain cleanliness and organisation of cooking stations and kitchen equipmentFollow food safety and hygiene protocols consistentlyManage cooking times to ensure timely delivery of meals during serviceAssist with food preparation, including chopping, marinating and portioning ingredientsRespond to feedback from the kitchen team and management to improve service qualitySupport the kitchen team in meeting daily meal requirements and special requestsMonitor stock levels and report any shortages to supervisory staffMaintain awareness of menu offerings and special dietary requirementsWhat we're looking forProven experience working as a Cook in a busy hospitality or restaurant environmentStrong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methodsUnderstanding of food safety,
