Joe and Sons Hardware is seeking an experienced Driver - HR / HIAB to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is a key operational role based in Homebush West, NSW ****, where you will be responsible for the safe and productive operation of our heavy rigid and HIAB-equipped vehicles.
You will play a vital part in our logistics operations, ensuring timely and qualified delivery of goods to our customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.
This role is essential to supporting our business objectives and maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence in the transport and logistics sector.What you'll be doingOperate heavy rigid (HR) and HIAB-equipped vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with all relevant road safety regulations and company policiesPerform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition and report any maintenance issues promptlyLoad, unload and secure cargo using the HIAB crane and other equipment, ensuring all goods are transported safely and without damageNavigate routes effectively to ensure on-time delivery and collection of goods, whilst optimising fuel efficiencyMaintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption and hours of work in compliance with statutory requirementsCommunicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff and management to coordinate deliveries and resolve any operational issuesAdhere to all traffic laws, speed limits and workplace health and safety regulations at all timesMaintain a clean and well-organised vehicle interior and exteriorParticipate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry best practices and company proceduresWhat we're looking forCurrent and valid Heavy Rigid (HR)



driving licence with a clean driving recordHIAB or equivalent crane operation certification or proven experience operating HIAB-equipped vehiclesMinimum of 2-3 years' professional driving experience in a transport or logistics environmentComprehensive knowledge of vehicle safety checks, load securing procedures and relevant transport regulationsStrong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team membersExcellent time management and route planning capabilitiesHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a quick-paced environmentPhysical fitness to safely perform loading and unloading dutiesPreferred: Experience with livestock transport, hardware distribution or similar specialised freight handling is advantageousWhat we offerJoe and Sons Hardware offers a competitive remuneration package and a supportive working setting where your contributions are valued.
