The Position
As the General Manager of Commercial Services, you will play a pivotal role in driving enterprise performance whilst delivering robust commercial and procurement frameworks that provide clear visibility of cost, risk, and value. This will support informed decision-making and ensure transparent, well-governed commercial and procurement outcomes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the enterprise Commercial Services strategy aligned to corporate objectives, risk appetite, and market conditions.
- Provide strategic commercial advice, market insights, spend analysis and procurement planning to support executive decision-making.
- Embed a high-performing, values-led culture across the function.
- Drive consistent behaviours and hold team members to account for performance and conduct.
- Strengthen capability, accountability and engagement, through coaching and mentoring of leaders and team members.
- Govern the enterprise commercial and procurement policies, frameworks and controls.
- Provide second-line assurance over capital commercial services.
- Build strong internal and supplier relationships that support ethical sourcing, collaboration and commercial outcomes.
- Drive functional transformation through system, process, and capability improvements.
- Lead functional risk management with a focus on commercial and procurement risks, including system resilience, regulatory requirements and obligations.
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience leading procurement and contract management functions in a large, complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary commercial and contract management approaches.
- Excellent commercial acumen with demonstrated application in strategic thinking and hands-on operational execution.
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills with exceptional stakeholder management.
- Ability to drive improved Enterprise outcomes through collaborative approaches and effective senior management engagement.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, economics, legal or related discipline.
