The Role
We are keen to connect with Emergency Medicine Registrars interested in joining a regional referral hospital that offers exceptional exposure to remote, rural and retrieval medicine within one of Australia's most diverse emergency practice environments. This role provides the opportunity to manage a broad spectrum of undifferentiated emergency presentations while working alongside experienced FACEMs in a supportive, consultant led department.

The Emergency Department manages a high acuity case mix, including trauma, paediatrics, critical illness and complex presentations unique to Central Australia. Registrars gain significant hands on experience, procedural exposure and increasing clinical responsibility, supported by direct consultant supervision and a strong multidisciplinary team.

The Hospital
This regional referral hospital is the principal acute healthcare provider for Central Australia, delivering specialist services across a vast geographic area.
Confirmed features include:

- Regional referral Emergency Department serving a large remote and rural catchment across Central Australia.
- Broad case mix including adult, paediatric, trauma and remote emergency presentations.
- Close collaboration with retrieval, inpatient specialty and multidisciplinary teams.
- Teaching hospital with strong links to medical education and registrar training.

Training & Development
Training is a key strength of this position, providing outstanding experience for doctors pursuing Emergency Medicine.
Confirmed opportunities include:





- ACEM accredited Non-Major Referral Emergency Department for 24 months of Emergency Medicine training. (ACEM Accredited Emergency Departments)
- Accredited for Training Stage 4 (TS4).
- Opportunity to complete the ACEM Paediatric Emergency Requirement through on-site paediatric exposure.
- Dedicated FACEM supervision with protected teaching and bedside education.
- Extensive procedural experience across resuscitation, trauma and critically unwell patients.
- Exposure to retrieval medicine and emergency care unique to remote and rural Australia.

Requirements

- Eligible for registration with AHPRA.
- Appropriate postgraduate Emergency Medicine or acute care experience.
- Interest in or enrolment with ACEM is desirable.
