As a Trades Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role within our Production Centre located in Wacol, providing support to technicians, maintaining workshop operations, and assisting with mechanical tasks in a safety-focused environment.
About The Role
Reporting to the Defence Project Manager, you will provide essential support to the workshop team and assist with a variety of workshop activities. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting technicians with workshop activities and mechanical tasks
- Completing work instructions as directed
- Collecting parts from the warehouse and suppliers
- Maintaining workshop stock levels including oils, rags and consumables
- Cleaning and maintaining workshop common areas
- Emptying waste bins and ensuring a tidy work environment
- Supporting special projects as required
- Contributing to safe and efficient workshop operations.
About You
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in workshop environments
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Current Driver's Licence
- Experience working in a workshop, manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous but not essential
