The Role
We are keen to connect with Paediatric Registrars interested in joining a regional referral hospital within Central Queensland. This position offers broad exposure to general paediatrics in a well-supported department, caring for neonates, infants, children and adolescents across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings.
Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will manage a diverse range of acute and chronic paediatric presentations while developing your clinical decision-making and procedural skills under consultant supervision. The role provides valuable regional experience with opportunities to participate in teaching, quality improvement and service development.
The Hospital
This regional public hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist medical and surgical services for the local community, including:
- 24-hour Emergency Department
- General medicine and surgery
- Paediatric inpatient and outpatient services
- Maternity and women's health services
- High dependency and coronary care
- Operating theatres, medical imaging, pathology and oncology services
- Strong referral links across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and tertiary paediatric services in Queensland for complex cases.
Training & Development
Training is a key focus of this role, providing exposure to a broad range of general paediatric presentations in a regional setting.
- Accredited General Paediatrics Registrar position within the Queensland Health training network.
- Work alongside an established team of consultant paediatricians and senior trainees.
- Broad exposure to inpatient, outpatient and emergency paediatric medicine.
- Regular consultant supervision and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Access to regional teaching and education programs through Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Opportunity to develop confidence in managing common and complex paediatric conditions while working closely with tertiary referral services when required.

Requirements
- Eligible for registration with AHPRA.
- Appropriate experience in paediatrics.
- Eligible to work in Australia.
- Ability to provide professional referees.
