Admissions/Ward Clerk - 2SE Cardiology

About the Role

Join the Cardiac Services team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital as an Admissions/Ward Clerk supporting the 2 South East Cardiology and Cardiothoracic service.

You'll provide essential administrative support across the Cardiology pre-admission clinic, day ward and procedure room, helping coordinate patient admissions, transfers, procedures and discharges. Working closely with nursing and medical teams, you'll contribute to smooth patient flow and accurate patient records while supporting a team-oriented, team-based approach to care.

Key Accountabilities

- Maintain accurate and timely EMR/IPM records for patient admissions, transfers, ward movements and discharges.
- Assist with coordinating patient admissions, transfers and discharges under the direction of the senior nurse.
- Collaborate with 2B, Cath Lab and 6 South East wards to support patient flow.
- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, filing, mail distribution, photocopying and facility requests.
- Communicate clearly with staff, patients and the public, ensuring patient management systems and journey boards are up to date.

About You





You are an experienced administration professional who brings:

- Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including a professional telephone manner
- Proven clerical and administrative experience with strong attention to detail
- Accurate keyboard and computer skills

Desirable:

- TAFE-accredited clerical training
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC
