About the role
A Carpentry Leading Hand / Site Supervisor position, overseeing subcontractors and managing all aspects of construction projects. You will lead teams, ensure quality delivery within timelines, review architectural drawings, liaise with project managers and suppliers, and maintain safety standards on site.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee subcontractor crews, ensuring work is delivered to the highest standard and within agreed timelines
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, identifying potential challenges before they arise
- Liaise daily with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth operations
- Uphold safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections and safety briefings
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to apprentices and junior carpenters
- Step in with hands-on carpentry work when needed, setting the benchmark for quality and efficiency
About you
- Demonstrated experience as a Leading Hand, Foreman,
or Site Supervisor in carpentry or construction
- Advanced carpentry skills across structural, fit-out, and finishing work
- Solid ability to read and interpret complex plans and specifications
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on team development and morale
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance
- Relevant trade qualifications, current White Card, and a valid driver's licence
- Organised, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced site environment
