We're looking for a passionate Centre Cook/Chef who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious meals and creating positive mealtime experiences for children every day. As an essential member of our centre community, you'll play a vital role in supporting children's growth, development and wellbeing through healthy, balanced meals prepared with care.

Your role as Centre Cook/Chef

As our Centre Cook/Chef, you'll prepare fresh, nutritious meals that support children's health, wellbeing and lifelong relationship with food. Working 35 hours per week, you'll collaborate closely with the Centre Leadership Team, you'll ensure every meal is prepared with care while maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.

In this role, you will:

- Plan, prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals and snacks that meet the Australian Dietary Guidelines and children's individual dietary requirements.

- Develop nutritious seasonal menus that cater for allergies, cultural requirements and family preferences.

- Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness in accordance with food safety legislation and Beyond policies.

- Manage food ordering, stock control and kitchen supplies while minimising waste.

- Build positive relationships with children and support enjoyable, positive mealtime experiences.

- Work collaboratively with Centre Leadership and educators to support children's health, wellbeing and daily routines.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you'll have a genuine passion for preparing nutritious meals for young children and creating positive mealtime experiences. You'll be committed to maintaining exceptional standards of food safety,



organisation and cleanliness while working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- A relevant commercial cookery qualification or demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen, childcare or education setting.

- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification (or the ability to obtain one).

- Sound knowledge of food safety legislation, allergy management and safe food handling practices.

- Experience planning and preparing healthy meals for large groups while catering for individual dietary requirements.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage kitchen operations, ordering and stock control.

- A current (or the ability to obtain one) Working with Children Check (WWCC), RRHAN-EC training, Food Safety Supervisor Certification, First Aid Certification, and a National Police Check and any other mandatory clearances required for the role.
