Build your future with us.

The Chance

As Director – Financial Control, you'll take ownership of the Group's Corporate and Fund Accounting function, spanning the La Trobe Australian Credit Fund and the LGAM fund range, together with our SOx and internal controls program. This is a senior finance leadership role with genuine breadth: you'll be accountable for the integrity of our financial systems, our regulatory compliance, and the strength of our control environment, while also shaping the policy and governance frameworks that underpin them.

Additionally, you'll lead the modernisation of how finance operates; driving automation, streamlining processes, and building a team with the digital and analytical capability to match. You'll oversee day-to-day financial control and support the smooth delivery of audit and regulatory reporting, while also contributing to major non-BAU initiatives, including new product launches.

We're looking for a leader with strong stakeholder and influencing skills, who can deliver both operational discipline and meaningful change. A background in Funds Management or the NBFI sector is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a robust financial control framework and oversee the Group's SOx compliance program, ensuring alignment with regulatory and governance standards.

- Ensure timely, accurate delivery of statutory and regulatory obligations, and support efficient internal and external audit processes.

- Identify and mitigate financial risk, and design internal control policies that safeguard assets and prevent fraud.

- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, building capability and accountability across the function.

- Partner with senior executives, auditors, and regulators to align financial control with broader business strategy.

- Drive modernisation of finance systems and processes — championing automation, emerging technology, and scalable ways of working.

- Build the finance team's digital and analytical capability through targeted training and development.

- Contribute to strategic initiatives outside BAU, including new product and service launches.

About You

- Minimum 15 years' post-qualification experience in financial services, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, or Accounting; CA or CPA qualified.

- Deep knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate governance frameworks.

- Proven track record managing complex financial operations and control environments within large or multinational organisations.

- Experience driving automation, technology, or process transformation within a finance function.

- Background in Funds Management or the NBFI sector highly regarded.

- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across a large organisation.

- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound project management fundamentals.

- High integrity, ethical standards, and exceptional attention to detail.

- The ability to translate complex technical and financial issues into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
