THE ROLE:
Austrade’s Investment Division is seeking high-quality candidates for multiple Senior Adviser roles across the Division. These roles offer the opportunity to work at the intersection of government, international business and Australia’s economic priorities. We value the perspectives people bring from different cultures, languages, sectors and career paths, including experience gained outside Australia.
The Investment Division consists of four branches; a Strategy, Insights and Performance branch and three Region desks:
• Europe, Middle East and Africa;
• Americas; and
• Asia.
Investment Division:
• Develops the overarching strategy – and performance framework - for Austrade’s global investment program;
• Works directly with companies on investment projects: among other things, providing information and sectoral insights to support due diligence; providing connections of suppliers and service providers; collaborating with S&T;’s to support navigation of regulatory and environmental approvals.
• Plans and delivers inbound and outbound investment delegations and bespoke site visit programs.
A merit pool may be created from this recruitment round to fill similar vacancies that may arise during the subsequent 18 months from the date of advertising.

Duties Include:
As a Senior Adviser you will:
• Work as part of an Australia-based team supporting key investors and staff in our global network.
• Contribute to a disciplined client management approach for Austrade’s portfolio of significant existing investors in close partnership with states and territories and offshore Austrade offices.
• Identify, shape, and deliver new investment propositions or opportunities for promotion to investors.
• Write reports and briefings to Ministers or the Executive and provide transparent, authoritative and relevant reports to clients.
• Engage with other government agencies, private sector developers and commercial intermediaries to support investment outcomes.
• Develop business insights from company engagement that can help inform government programs and policy.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members (with potential staff management responsibilities).
