About the Role

Forge Group is seeking an experienced WHS Coordinator to support our manufacturing and industrial operations across the Central Coast and regional NSW. Reporting to the WHSEQ Manager, this role will help implement, maintain and continuously improve our safety management systems, ensuring safe systems of work and compliance with the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and associated regulations. You will combine practical, on-the-floor safety engagement with WHS administration, compliance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Conducting regular safety inspections, audits and machinery checks across manufacturing environments.

- Preparing and reviewing Safe Work Method Statements, Standard Operating Procedures and other safety documentation.

- Managing hazardous chemical registers and Safety Data Sheets.

- Monitoring plant guarding and machinery safety compliance.

- Leading investigations into incidents, near misses, equipment failures and other safety events.

- Completing root-cause analysis and tracking corrective actions through to close-out.

- Maintaining WHS records and preparing safety data for monthly reporting.





- Conducting employee and contractor safety inductions.

- Facilitating toolbox talks and Health and Safety Committee meetings.

- Supporting High Risk Work training bookings and compliance checks.

- Promoting proactive hazard reporting and floor-level safety engagement.

- Supporting site and manufacturing managers with WHS advice and practical solutions.

- Travelling to operational locations, including Somersby, Gosford, Newcastle and Oberon, as required.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety.

- At least two years’ experience in a WHS role within manufacturing, warehousing, heavy industry or a similar environment.

- Sound knowledge of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and relevant regulations.

- Experience conducting inspections, audits and incident investigations.

- The ability to develop practical safety documentation, including SWMS and SOPs.

- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

- The confidence to engage with both operational employees and senior management.

- A proactive, practical and collaborative approach to workplace safety.

- A current NSW Driver Licence.

This is a full-time permanent position within our WHS team. To be successful in this role you must be motivated and be willing to put in the effort required to complete jobs in a timely manner. Attention to detail and highest quality workmanship are paramount.

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.
