Photo Lab & Production Assistant Fotoworks | Osborne Park, WA
Are you organised, detail-focused and interested in photography and print production?
Fotoworks is looking for a Photo Lab & Production Assistant to join our busy Lab team in Osborne Park.
For over 40 years, Fotoworks has been working with schools across Western Australia, capturing school memories and producing quality photographic products for students, families and school communities.
Our Lab team plays an important role behind the scenes, taking the images captured by our photographers and helping turn them into the finished products delivered to our schools and families.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on production role where you'll work closely with our photography, production and customer care teams to keep jobs moving efficiently from photography day through to final delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing and converting RAW photographic files into JPEGs
- Colour correcting and preparing images for production
- Checking image quality, colour and consistency
- Printing photographic prints and other school photography products
- Producing and assembling booklets and other printed products
- Fulfilling parent and school photography orders accurately
- Carrying out quality-control checks throughout the production process
- Working closely with other Fotoworks departments to ensure jobs continue moving through production efficiently
- Assisting the Lab team with general production duties during busy periods
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in getting the details right.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Positive computer skills and confidence working with digital files
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom or similar imaging software
- An understanding of RAW and JPEG image formats
- An eye for colour, image quality and consistency
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately in a deadline-driven environment
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to help wherever needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams
Previous experience in a photographic lab, printing, photography, graphic production or a similar environment would be highly regarded, but we also value the right attitude and willingness to learn.
If you’re excited about this opportunity, we’d love to hear from you! Please apply with your current resume and a cover letter telling us a little about yourself, your experience, and the wonderful photography skills you’ll bring to the role.
Thank you for your interest in joining our team. We appreciate the time taken to apply. Please understand that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
