About the role

Aerodynamic Pty Ltd is seeking a Trainee Flight Data Analyst to join our Aviation Services team at our Keilor Park facility in Victoria. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to launch your career in aviation safety and performance analysis. As a Trainee Flight Data Analyst, you will work with experienced professionals to extract, interpret, and analyse flight data from aircraft systems. This role is integral to enhancing flight safety, optimising aircraft performance, and supporting regulatory compliance across our operations. You will be based at our Keilor Park VIC 3042 location.

Key responsibilities

- Extracting and processing flight data from aircraft data recording systems under supervision

- Analysing flight parameters to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for operational improvement

- Assisting in the investigation of flight incidents and accidents by examining relevant flight data

- Preparing clear and concise reports summarising flight data findings for senior analysts and management

- Collaborating with pilots, engineers, and maintenance teams to communicate findings and recommendations

- Supporting the development and maintenance of flight data analysis tools and databases

- Ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations and company procedures

- Participating in continuous professional development and training to build expertise in aviation safety standards and analysis techniques

What we're looking for

- A tertiary qualification in engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or a closely related discipline

- Holder of pilot's licence (PPL or CPL) highly regarded





- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex datasets

- Proficiency in using computer systems and data analysis software (training in aviation-specific tools will be provided)

- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data handling and reporting

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly

- Knowledge of basic aviation principles and a genuine interest in flight safety

- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst also managing independent tasks

- Willingness to undertake relevant certifications and training in aviation data analysis

- A strong safety culture mindset and understanding of the importance of aviation safety

- Candidates MUST be Australian Permanent Residents and hold a current Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (or be eligible to obtain and maintain one). This requirement is necessary to satisfy ITAR and security obligations applicable to our work with Australian Defence customers.
