ROUSSOS Recruitment
Adelaide
Build Traffix Group’s South Australian presence and shape the team around you
- Lead Traffix Group’s SA expansion, building and leading the new Adelaide team
- Work across traffic and transport engineering, backed by specialist expertise.
- Pathway to senior leadership and potential ownership, with structured development
The Opportunity
Traffix Group is coming to Adelaide!
As an established specialist traffic and transport engineering consultancy, Traffix Group has built its reputation around technical capability, strong client relationships and, importantly, its people.
As the business expands into South Australia, an opportunity is available for a Senior Associate to play a leading role in establishing and growing its Adelaide presence.
This is not simply an opportunity to join another established team. You will have the chance to help build one.
Working closely with Traffix Group's Directors and senior leaders, you will take ownership of key client relationships, lead complex traffic and transport projects and help develop the company's presence within the South Australian market. As the Adelaide operation grows, there is significant opportunity to build and lead a local team around you.
Importantly, you will have the autonomy of helping establish something new without having to do it alone. Traffix Group has senior specialists across transport planning, traffic impact assessment, road safety, intersection and parking design, traffic management and other areas who can provide technical support and expertise when required.
The Role
As Senior Associate, you will combine technical leadership, project delivery, client management, people leadership and business development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading complex traffic and transport engineering projects from inception through to delivery
- Providing senior technical input across one or more areas of transport planning, traffic impact assessments, road safety,
intersection and parking design and traffic management
- Managing project scope, programmes, budgets, profitability, forecasting and risk
- Acting as a senior technical reviewer and escalation point across complex projects
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, approval authorities, consultants and key stakeholders
- Preparing fee proposals and identifying opportunities for repeat and current work
- Developing Traffix Group's relationships and market presence within South Australia
- Leading, mentoring and developing engineers as the Adelaide team grows
- Contributing to business planning, resource management and broader growth initiatives
- Working closely with Directors and senior leaders across the wider business
The position has genuine influence beyond individual project delivery, with Senior Associates contributing to business management, growth initiatives and internal leadership.
The Like Mind
This opportunity will suit an established traffic and transport professional who enjoys the technical side of engineering but is equally motivated by clients, people and building a business.
You will ideally bring:
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent
- 10+ years' experience within traffic and transport engineering
- Broad technical knowledge across traffic and transport engineering
- Experience leading complex projects and managing commercial outcomes
- Strong client relationships and business development capability
- The ability to mentor and develop engineers
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- An interest in playing a meaningful role in growing a new Adelaide operation
- Professional Engineering Registration, or be working towards achieving and maintaining registration
Why Traffix Group?
Traffix Group specialises exclusively in traffic and transport engineering, giving employees exposure across planning, design, road safety, infrastructure and more, while having access to experienced specialists across the business. Teams are deliberately kept small, generally 5–10 people, providing direct access to Directors and senior engineers and creating a supportive, personal working environment.
Traffix Group also offers genuine flexibility and benefits, including:
- 38-hour week with core hours of 10am–3pm and up to two WFH days
- Annual 'Me Day', flexible leave options, substituted public holidays and part-time arrangements
- Confidential mental health support and an active social club
- Direct Director mentoring through a Leadership Development Program
- Annual professional membership allowance, regular training, CPD and study support
- Opportunities to mentor others and contribute to business decisions and internal committees
- Progression into senior leadership, with a potential pathway to ownership
For someone joining the Adelaide operation, this is a genuine opportunity to build and lead a new team, influence the growth of the South Australian business and develop alongside it.
