About the Program
Novita’s Community Options Parent Engagement (COPE) program offers 4 different supported and interactive groups for families to access weekly sessions with the support of our knowledgeable and experienced staff in a non-judgmental and inclusive environment that supports all members of the family thrive. They are:
Male role models and dad’s group
A group for male role models or dads to spend quality time with their kids doing a range of activities including coffee catch-ups, movie days, social outings, building projects, and mini-Olympics.
Mobile Toy Library
A program that brings Novita’s suite of resources to you! An in-home service with a excellent range of resources to support children to learn and grow through play and for parents and caregivers to develop knowledge, confidence, and skills to connect with kids in a fun interactive way.
Supported Playgroups
Young families can use this program as a platform to make friends and connect with other families and their community whilst having a fun, play focused approach that kids will love!
Parent Education and Skills
Parenting workshops, courses, and seminars based on community needs. Topics may include Child development, behaviour support, mental health, and health and nutrition. These programs take place from Bagster Road Community Centre and Parafield Gardens Children’s Centre.
About the Role
As the Parent Engagement Program Coordinator, you will lead the delivery of inclusive programs that empower families, strengthen community connections, and support staff to achieve positive outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate engaging programs that meet community needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families and local networks
- Supervise and mentor staff to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Monitor program compliance, safety, and reporting requirements
- Promote programs through community events and partnerships
This role is 0.8 FTE, over 5 days per week.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and family engagement
- Experience coordinating community-based programs and building local networks
- Ability to lead and mentor staff in a semi-autonomous environment
- Skilled in program compliance, reporting, and risk management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and administrative systems
Education and Qualifications
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Disability, Early Childhood (or equivalent)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Current driver’s licence (minimum P2)
- Current WWCC and NDIS Worker Checks
We’re serious about safeguarding our clients. If you don’t have a current NDIS Worker Check and SA Working with Children Check, we’ll let you know how to obtain these prior to starting work with us.
