MCJ Appointments is currently recruiting for an experienced Licensed Electrician to join a highly regarded Local Council's Building Construction & Maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with commercial maintenance or facilities management experience who enjoys varied work across Council buildings, sporting facilities and community infrastructure.
About the Role Reporting to the Supervisor – Building Trades, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs and installations across Council's building assets and public infrastructure while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with Australian Standards.

You will also provide technical advice, undertake inspections, supervise apprentices and contribute to maintaining Council's high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on Council buildings and facilities
- Maintain and repair electrical infrastructure including field lighting and sporting facility lighting
- Carry out electrical fault finding and repairs
- Test and tag electrical equipment
- Conduct asset inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Prepare quotations for electrical works
- Purchase materials in accordance with Council procedures
- Supervise and mentor electrical apprentices
- Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Council safety procedures
- Participate in emergency maintenance works when required

About You

To be successful you will possess:

- Current Electrical Trade Qualification
- Current NSW Electrical Contractor Licence
- Current Class C Driver Licence




- Demonstrated experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience interpreting electrical standards and safety requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to workplace health and safety

Highly Regarded

- Experience maintaining sporting field lighting
- Local Government or commercial facilities maintenance experience
- Experience supervising apprentices
- Test & Tag experience
- Asset inspection experience
