We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and accredited Immunisation Nurse to join City of Melbourne's Family and Children's Services team on a casual basis. Working across community, school-based and outreach immunisation programs, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality vaccination services that improve health outcomes for people of all ages.

A little more about the role

- Deliver immunisation services in accordance with the National Immunisation Program, Australian Immunisation Handbook and relevant legislation.

- Administer vaccines across community clinics, schools, workplaces and outreach settings, ensuring safe and effective clinical practice.

- Provide evidence-based immunisation information and support to individuals, families, schools, healthcare providers and community stakeholders.

- Maintain accurate records, manage vaccine storage and cold chain requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of immunisation services.

- Support initiatives that improve access, equity and participation in immunisation programs across the municipality.

About you

You thrive in a client-focused environment, communicate confidently with a diverse range of people, and are committed to delivering safe, evidence-based immunisation services.

What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA, Accredited Nurse Immuniser qualifications and a current Victorian Driver Licence.

- Demonstrated experience delivering immunisation services and sound knowledge of the National Immunisation Program, Australian Immunisation Handbook, Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) and catch-up vaccination schedules.

- Strong understanding of vaccine storage, cold chain management and vaccine stock control processes.

- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice to individuals, families and stakeholders.

- Proven ability to build effective relationships, maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
